A prominent professor at Lakeland University has passed away.
The university has announced the passing of former music professor Janet Herrick, who retired from Lakeland in 2013.
Herrick landed in Lakeland in 1992 and spent more than two decades providing students with a wide range of growth and experiences in her classes.
However, her impact went beyond the classroom, having been the director of choral activities and handbells at the university.
Outside of Lakeland, she is also credited with founding the Sheboygan Symphony Chorus in 1994.
With the chorus, she not only served as a musician but was also the group’s Director Emeritus.
Herrick’s obituary credits her as a family woman and a proud fan of the Green Bay Packers.
While holding a prominent role in the music scene in Sheboygan County, Herrick passed away in her hometown of Dansville, New York. She was 76 at the time of her passing.
