The completion of asbestos and universal waste removal at the former Janesville General Motors plant means demolition can start this week. Nearby residents and businesses have been told about two dozen trucks each day will use West Delavan Drive to remove debris from the plant. Equipment and machinery will be sold in a four-day online auction starting next Monday. The facility functioned as a manufacturing site for more than 90 years until it closed in 2010. It was the oldest plant in North America at the time.
