A convicted sex offender is set to be released in Calumet County.
Wayne G. Kersten was convicted on 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography in 2019 and has since served his sentence as imposed by the court.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office noted that Kersten is under the supervision of the Department of Corrections and will be monitored by a lifetime GPS, and is required to register for life with the WI Sex Offender Registry.
Kersten is not wanted by police at this time, and any harassment, threats, or intimidation of him will not be tolerated.
The Sheriff’s Office added, “We want to make sure that the community remains vigilant and ensure they fully understand the seriousness of this offender. He will be required to make regular contact with his assigned agent and his location will also be verified using GPS.”
