Manitowoc will again be one of 2,500 cities across the nation participating in No Kings protests this weekend.
Progress Lakeshore People and Manitowoc Indivisible announced that the demonstrations will be taking place on Saturday (October 18th) from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Washington Park, with the Raging Grannies starting off the event with a nonperishable food drive benefiting local kids.
Organizers are asking participants to bring their own signs, water, and, if needed, a chair.
The groups are also hosting an opening reception for a new art exhibition.
The Art of Resistance exhibit at Parkview Playhouse, located on 12th Street in Manitowoc, will be opened with a reception from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will feature artwork submitted from all around the state.
Progressive Lakeshore People say they formed in March 2025 in response to the Trump administration’s “assault on our democracy.”
Eighty-three other rallies are scheduled to be held across Wisconsin.
