The family of 26-year-old Elijah Wilks says they believe the shooting was justified after reviewing police footage.
Wilks was fatally shot by an off-duty Milwaukee police officer last week.
The video reportedly shows Wilks exiting his vehicle during a traffic dispute, drawing a firearm, and firing at the officer, who then returned fire.
The family did respond by saying the actions were uncharacteristic of Wilks.
However, they also thanked the police for their transparency and swift release of the footage.
