Residents have been given a look behind the signs in Sheboygan County.
Across Sheboygan County, there are nearly 12,000 road signs on the various county highways providing directions and safety measures for motorists.
However, county officials have said that if you have driven on any of these highways, you have seen the work of just one man.
Tom Schefsky with the Sheboygan County Highway Department is responsible for making, installing, and repairing each and every one of the thousands of signs throughout the county.
Schefsky is a one-man crew who has a small shop that makes a massive impact in the community.
When describing Schefsky’s work, the county stated, “From the shop to the shoulder, Tom helps keep our highways safe and drivers (mostly) on course.”
