A man is dead after a traffic accident escalated into gunfire involving an off-duty Milwaukee police officer on Thursday.
Authorities report that the incident began when the officer’s vehicle was rear-ended during his commute.
Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman stated that the man who struck the officer allegedly pulled a firearm and hit the officer with it, prompting a deadly exchange.
The officer sustained minor injuries.
The investigation into the fatal incident remains ongoing.
