Manitowoc’s Ascend Services is teaming up with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
This annual awareness campaign takes place every October as an effort to educate the public about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating Value and Talent”, and Ascend will be engaging in a variety of activities related to the theme.
Executive Director Deanna Genske says it’s important for them to participate in the campaign because “We want to spread the important message that we value all perspectives, especially those of individuals with disabilities.”
