High school students in Sheboygan are doing their part to help feed kids in need throughout the community.
The Sheboygan County Food Bank has shared that students in the DELTA Club at Sheboygan North have played a key role in the success of this school year’s Food for Thought for Kids program.
The Food Bank’s Food for Thought for Kids program allows kids in need to receive a bag of food items each Friday to bring home, ensuring they have access to healthy, affordable food over the weekend.
Once a month, members of North’s DELTA Club volunteer to fill these bags with 10 items. After the bags are packed, the students are also responsible for delivering them to over 90% of the schools participating in the program.
Last week, over 30 DELTA Club members prepped nearly 600 bags at the Food Bank’s warehouse, ensuring children around the county do not go hungry over the weekends.
When sharing the news on this thoughtful service, the Sheboygan County Food Bank said, “We’re inspired by these students and thankful for their dedication!”
