Wisconsin veterans may soon be given the opportunity to apply for a new special registration plate.
In a bipartisan effort, Senator Andre Jacque of New Franken is joined by Senator Mark Spreitzer of Beloit and Representatives Dave Maxey of New Berlin and Clinton Anderson of Beloit to introduce a bill aimed at creating special license plates for those who received the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
This service medal is awarded to active and retired Armed Duty, Reserve, and Guard personnel who supported specific counter-terrorism operations on or after September 11, 2001.
Wisconsin currently offers over 50 license plates that recognize the medals and services of military members.
This bill would give Wisconsin personnel who receive the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal the opportunity to reflect that award through a specialized motor vehicle registration plate.
