Sheboygan’s hub for active seniors is starting to reach new heights.
Uptown Social, located on North 8th Street, has shared that they have gained more than 2,000 new members since opening in 2022.
So far in 2025, the activity center is reaching a daily attendance of approximately 250, both numbers which far surpass those of Uptown Social’s predecessor, the Senior Activity Center of Sheboygan.
When discussing Uptown Social’s success, Sheboygan’s Director of Senior Services, Emily Rendall-Araujo, said, “In less than three years, Uptown Social has grown into a vibrant resource where people come not only to socialize, but to learn, exercise, and age positively.”
With that in mind, they are looking to expand their current staff, programming options, and hours to meet the growing needs in the community.
However, while this success continues, the City has come to the decision to completely raze the former Senior Activity Center building located on Wisconsin Avenue.
At this time, it is uncertain when Uptown Social’s predecessor will be demolished or what will be done with the site after it is completed.
