A Manitowoc man has been sentenced in an OWI case where he fought with police.
40-year-old Raymond Shane O’Conner pleaded guilty to OWI 5th or 6th, while a charge of Operating with Prohibited Alcohol Concentration 5th or 6th was dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion.
Judge Robert Dewane ordered O’Conner to spend two years in prison, followed by two and a half years under extended supervision.
He was given credit for 27 days time served.
O’Conner was arrested on July 22nd after police were called to the 800 block of South 26th Street on a disorderly conduct call.
He had reportedly smashed out the windows of a car with a baseball bat, and police deployed a taser to take him into custody.
During his arrest, O’Conner allegedly admitted to smoking “a bunch of meth” and smelled of intoxicants.
Once released, O’Conner was ordered to maintain absolute sobriety aside from prescription medication, submit to random drug screens, maintain full-time employment, and to pay a variety of fees.
