Marion I. Meyer-Heath (née Alfredson), loving matriarch and friends to many, passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on Saturday, September 27, 2025, under care at Shady Lane Assisted Living in Manitowoc, WI.
Marion was born on August 3, 1923, in Norway, MI to the late Carl Oscar and Anna Alfredson and garnered her education in the Michigan school system. In 1942, she arrived in Manitowoc and worked a variety of jobs in the area, including: Mirro Company, Jagemann Stamping, Lapcor, Heresite, National Tinsel, and Lakeside Foods.
On April 24, 1946, she married Mark L. Meyer from Cato, WI. They loved camping and traveling throughout Wisconsin together. After Mark’s retirement, they moved to Crivitz, WI. Fishing, gardening, and cooking became her passion, one she would carry with her and share with loved ones and friends throughout her life. While living in Crivitz, she worked at Twin Bridge Resort, Peshtigo River Resort, and The Ranch. When Mark passed away on October 23, 1998, she moved back to Manitowoc to be closer to family.
On April 5, 2001, she married Donald C. Heath from Crivitz, a long-time neighbor and friend to both Mark and Marion. Marion returned to Crivitz and renewed her passions for gardening and socializing. She often walked up the nearby hill to visit with neighbors and friends. When Donald passed away on April 30, 2003, Marion again returned to Manitowoc.
Marion’s life spanned 102 years of remarkable history. She fulfilled deep-rooted interests in travel, cooking and baking, and socializing with friends and family. She always had a smile on her face and shared her kindness, love, and bright spirit with anyone fortunate enough to have crossed her path. She lived independently until late 2024, before making the move to Shady Lane. She was active with the local Senior Center, VFW Auxiliary Post #659, the Red Hatters, and was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Manitowoc. Her enjoyment of travel was prominent throughout her life, including in her later years, as she participated in many Senior Center bus trips and traveled to Sweden to reflect on her roots and family history.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mark L. Meyer; her second husband, Donald C. Heath; a son, David M. Meyer; one great grandson, four brothers, two sisters, six brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law.
Survivors include one son, Robert W. Meyer and his fiancée Marjorie Sychak of Crivitz; one daughter-in-law, Sue Meyer of Manitowoc; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and close friends.
