Those looking to become an EMT in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties now have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to help make that happen.
Orange Cross Ambulance has shared that they have begun accepting applications for the 2nd annual George Sippel Memorial EMS Scholarship.
Sippel, a former volunteer EMT and firefighter in Plymouth, dedicated his life to serving others, and his wife, Cindy, established this scholarship last year to honor his legacy.
The scholarship will be worth $1,000 and is open to students from Manitowoc or Sheboygan Counties who are enrolled or will be enrolling in an EMS training program.
Technical schools that are eligible for the scholarship will be Fox Valley Technical College, Lakeshore College, Moraine Park Technical College, and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
This marks the second year the George Sippel scholarship is being offered, and Manitowoc Lincoln High School graduate Tino Adastra was named the inaugural recipient earlier this year.
Those looking to apply for the George Sippel Memorial EMS Scholarship can do so by visiting orangecross.org.
