The City of Sheboygan will begin its annual fall leaf clean-up next week.
The City’s Department of Public Works has shared that collection will begin on Monday (October 6th) and continue through Wednesday, November 26th.
For the sake of efficiency during the collection, the DPW has divided the City into five sections, with one zone being targeted each day of the week.
Residents are asked to rake leaf piles into the street gutter for easier and faster pick up by City crews.
However, residents are also reminded that leaf piles containing branches, sod, pumpkins, or other yard waste will not be collected.
To alleviate a large volume of leaves, residents are also encouraged to utilize alternative ways to dispose of leaves, including mulching them while cutting the grass or bagging them and bringing them to a drop-off site.
While raking leaves into street gutters, ensure there is space between the piles and the curb, allowing space for water to flow in the event of rain.
