Explore Two Rivers is highlighting an organization that is helping promote tourism in our area.
Circle Wisconsin is a state-wide non-profit organization that helps organize motorcoach tours of the state, including several trips to Manitowoc County.
During those trips, guests have spent time at numerous local attractions, including the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, and Rogers Street Fishing Village, just to name a few.
Explore Two Rivers noted that these tours also provide “consistent foot traffic” and “introduce first-time visitors to our area, which generates repeat tourism and positive word-of-mouth.”
The City of Two Rivers’ tourism entity also noted that “The average 40-person tour group that visits and stays overnight in Two Rivers, generates $10.000 to $14,000 in local economic impact depending on the activities they do while they are here.”
The American Bus Foundation has also reported that group travel generated $2.8 billion in economic impact throughout Wisconsin, the tenth highest total in the country, followed by Illinois. Michigan is ranked #16, and Minnesota is #6.
