
Several high school boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams converge at Meadow Links Golf Course in Manitowoc today for the annual Len Nikolai Invitational hosted by Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
Coach Nikolai coached the Shipbuilders for 45 years, retiring in 2012.
He has impacted literally hundreds of student athletes who roamed the halls of Lincoln High School and recently celebrated his 80th birthday with a gathering at the JFK Fieldhouse.
There are also several high school girls’ volleyball invitationals taking place today.
Manitowoc Lincoln continues competition in the West Bend East “SPRAWL”, Manitowoc Lutheran participates in the Lutheran Invitational at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Valders hosts an invitational, while Two Rivers heads to Algoma for an invitational.
Meanwhile, Kiel is a part of the West De Pere Invitational.
Manitowoc Lincoln is also set to participate in a girls’ Tennis Invitational at Oshkosh West, and in girls swimming, Two Rivers/Roncalli, along with Chilton/Brillion/Valders, and Kiel all participate in the Plymouth Invitational.
