Healthiest Manitowoc County is inviting schools, families, and community members to take part in National Walk and Roll to School Day.
The nationwide event is scheduled for October 8th, and highlights the importance of safe, active transportation options for students while fostering healthier lifestyles and stronger community connections.
Walking, biking, or rolling to school not only supports physical and mental well-being but also helps reduce traffic congestion, promotes environmental stewardship, and creates opportunities for students and families to engage with their neighborhoods.
Beginning the day with active travel can set a positive tone that enhances focus, energy, and readiness to learn.
Healthiest Manitowoc County, Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA, and Froedtert Holy Family Memorial are supporting the celebration by providing prizes to encourage student participation.
Schools are encouraged to register their events at WalkBikeToSchool.org and notify Healthiest Manitowoc County by emailing HealthiestMC@gmail.com.
Registered schools may receive free resources to support their events, as supplies are available.
