A Sheboygan area EMT has been honored for going above and beyond to keep patients safe.
Each year, the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin (PAAW) recognizes EMTs for their exemplary work with the Star of Life Awards.
This year, Davis Opel of Orange Cross Ambulance out of Sheboygan was given a Star of Life Award as a Field Training Officer.
Opel has been with Orange Cross for three years and, in his time there, has ensured new providers feel supported while growing into their new roles.
In their announcement, PAAW stated, “Davis is known for his steady presence, quiet leadership, and unwavering reliability. His impact on the organization is lasting, and his commitment to excellence has elevated those around him.”
Opel and other honorees will be formally recognized next month in Madison at the Midwest EMS Expo and Wisconsin Star of Life Event.
Opel is one of just 20 EMS workers across the state to be recognized, and a complete list of Star of Life Award recipients can be found online at paaw.us.
