Bail has been set for a Manitowoc man charged with 1st-degree intentional homicide.
Court Commissioner Luke LeFavre set a $500,000 cash bail for 20-year-old Kirk Dunn this afternoon (September 24th).
Dunn is also not allowed to have any contact with the victim’s family, or a separate victim who was involved in the incident near the 2400 block of Dewey Street yesterday (September 23rd).
Manitowoc County District Attorney Jacalyn Lebre alleged during the hearing that Dunn used a .40 caliber pistol to shoot and kill the victim.
Eight shell casings were found at the scene by police, which, according to Lebre, means Dunn fired the gun eight times.
The DA also said the 20-year-old grabbed a rifle, looked for ammo, and then went outside with the rifle.
Lebre said one of those bullets fired went into a building.
He’s also facing a charge of 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety while armed due to that incident.
Two people from the victim’s family were able to speak and said that the shooting was over a woman and said that the 20-year-old should have a higher cash bail.
Dunn will return to court on September 29th in Branch 4 for his initial hearing.

Manitowoc Police were called to Dewey Street on Tuesday just after 1:30 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
The victim was taken via a private vehicle to the 1200 block of S. 17th Street, where officers began life-saving measures. However, the person died at the scene.
