Residents in Kiel can get a chance to learn about a major highway construction project coming in 2029.
Before the regular council meeting, City of Kiel officials will be hearing a presentation and getting information regarding construction on Highway 32/57 at 5:00 p.m. before their regular council meeting tonight (September 23rd).
A quorum of the common council may be present at the informational meeting, but it’s not intended to be a meeting of the governmental body, and no official business will be conducted.
The regular council meeting will be held at the end of the presentation. According to the Wisconsin DOT, the improvements will reconstruct 1.5 miles of Highway 32 in the City of Kiel from Highway 67 to County Road AA or Park Avenue.
The primary purpose is to improve the deteriorating pavement surface and extend the service life of Highway 32.
There will be concrete and pavement replacement, sidewalk replacement, storm sewer replacement, and more.
There could also be a new roundabout at the intersection of Highway 32 and Park Avenue near the Kiel Quik Mart as well.
