With fall in full swing, Manitowoc’s Evergreen Cemetery is asking for help cleaning up the park-like final resting place of roughly 30,000 people.
Lot owners are asked to clear out all decorations, including flowers and statues, by October 1st.
Any items not removed by that time will be disposed of by cemetery staff, and any perennials will be cut down to ground level.
Winter decorations should not be placed on gravesites until November 15th, and should be kept close to the marker.
This will minimize the chance of damage during snow removal operations.
Additionally, any artificial flowers should be placed in a container during the winter months.
