
One person was hospitalized after a crash involving a school bus in Fond du Lac County.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office received a call just after 7:00 a.m. yesterday (September 16th), reporting the crash that took place on County Road W, west of St. Paul Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a car traveling eastbound ran into the rear of the school bus that was stopped with its warning lights and stop arm activated.
The bus was carrying approximately 12 children who were unharmed.
The car’s driver, a 56-year-old Malone woman, was transported to a local hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
Before being transported, the 56-year-old told authorities that direct sunlight may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Other agencies on the scene assisting the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office included the Town of Calumet Fire Department and Mt. Calvary Ambulance.
