The Village of Cleveland is currently under a boil water advisory.
The advisory was issued following a drop in water pressure due to a hydrant break.
Village officials say that the safety of their customers’ drinking water may be compromised.
A boil water advisory means Cleveland residents should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute and let it cool before drinking, making ice, brushing their teeth, or performing other tasks requiring water from the tap.
The Water Utility is flushing the system and will conduct ongoing water quality testing until cleared by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
The village is also repairing the system and replacing the damaged hydrant.
Once the water is safe again, Cleveland officials will tell residents it’s safe to drink the water without boiling it.
