Despite ongoing work, some Sheboygan County highways are starting to reopen as construction projects near completion.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has said that portions of State Highway 28 and State Highway 32 are now open.
In the Village of Cascade, Highway 28 is now open to through traffic after a bridge replacement project closed off the road for months.
Although work is not complete, crews will be installing a new beamguard this week, and gravel shoulders will be placed as well.
Additionally, on Wednesday (September 17th), the DOT will be lifting the closure and detour that have been in place on Highway 32 between Cedar Grove and County Road V.
However, the highway will remain closed between County Road V and Sheboygan Falls as the project nears completion.
Sheboygan County crews will also be performing ditch work on State Highway 23 westbound this week, causing daily closures at County Road E until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday (September 18th).
As is the case with all road work in Sheboygan County, all traffic impacts are weather-dependent and subject to change.
