A man claimed that “devil music” made him nearly hit a pedestrian.
A Manitowoc Police Officer on patrol spotted a vehicle driving erratically in the 1700 block of Washington Street at around 9:00 Saturday evening and conducted a traffic stop.
The 51-year-old male driver began yelling at the officer about the “devil music” that was being played at PetSkull Brewing, which was hosting a metal music concert.
He admitted to being parked near the barricades by the concert, and made a U-turn after seeing someone make the devil horns with his hands.
He then accelerated towards the individual, but veered out of the way at the last second.
The suspect said that he “never would have hit them” because they “would have moved out of the way.”
The alleged targets confirmed the story with police, saying he drove up on the sidewalk towards them and nearly hit them.
The man was arrested on charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Disorderly Conduct, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, as it was learned he is a convicted felon and was in possession of a knife that looked like a credit card.
