A major road closure has arrived in the City of Sheboygan.
The City’s Department of Public Works will be closing the intersection of Wilgus Avenue and North Taylor Drive starting today (September 15th) as part of an extensive infrastructure overhaul.
During the closure, crews will make significant upgrades to the intersection, including storm sewer improvements, new traffic lights, a new designated right turn lane on Wilgus Avenue, and much more.
The project will be done in two phases and is expected to be completed sometime in mid to late November.
Coinciding with the closure, Shoreline Metro’s Route 10 North bus line will be detoured to account for the closure.
Bus riders should be aware that the Job Center, Memorial Plaza, and Marcus Cinema bus stops on Wilgus will be serviced at the intersection of North Taylor and Wilgus for the duration of the project.
More information on the closure can be found on the Sheboygan DPW Facebook page, while details on the bus line detours can be found on the Shoreline Metro Facebook page.
