The City of Kiel continues to invest in its fire department.
The city council approved the purchase of a 2025 Can-Am UTV for about $23,700.
City Administrator Dave Funkhouser said the fire department was given a grant of $25,000 for the UTV, which will help the department save lives and investigate areas that can be hard to reach.
The council also approved a final payment of $417,793 for a new fire truck for the department.
The city is paying for the new fire truck through their city budget.
The new truck is replacing an older fire truck.
