Senior outside hitter Marissa Melhorn of Manitowoc Lutheran recorded her 1000th career kill Thursday night as the Lancers defeated Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah three sets to none in a Big East Conference girls volleyball match in the Lancers’ gym.
It was also the home opener for Manitowoc Lutheran as they defeated the Resorters 25-18, 25-13, and 25-13.
Melhorn had nine kills on the night as the Lancers improved to 2- 0 in the Big East and 10- 4 overall.
Manitowoc Lutheran travels to Shawano on Saturday for the Abby Tuma Invitational. Competition is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
