Health officials have confirmed the first human cases of West Nile virus this year in La Crosse and St. Croix Counties.
The La Crosse County Health Department reported one case, while St. Croix County Public Health reported three.
Officials emphasize the virus is not spread from person to person but through the bite of an infected mosquito.
