The Manitowoc man facing numerous child porn charges is due back in court next week.
Steven J. Wester is due for a scheduling conference on Tuesday, September 16th, as he approaches the one-year mark since his arrest.
The investigation into Wester began on December 11th, 2024, after Manitowoc Police received a tip from the Department of Criminal Investigation and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
A laptop belonging to Wester was found to have “a significant amount of image and video files” of child pornography, leading to him being charged with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Since his arrest, Wester has furnished his $5,000 cash bail and was ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 years and not to possess any internet-enabled devices unless supervised for work purposes only.
He was later granted permission to use the public computers on the property of Fox Valley Technical College for school-related purposes only.
The court also approved a restraining order filed against Wester by an individual only known by their initials.
His scheduling conference with Branch 1 Judge Mark Rohrer will begin at 11:00 a.m.
