Manitowoc County’s Board Chairman has announced his choice for the next Manitowoc County Treasurer.
Tyler Martell wrote to the board to announce that he wants to appoint Melissa McCulley.
McCulley has been with the county since 2018, serving in administrative capacities in both the Sheriff’s Office and Human Services Department.
From 2019-2023, she also served as Deputy treasurer.
According to Martell, McCulley knows the responsibilities of the job extremely well and will be ready to go on day one.
She also got a lot of positive recommendations from former supervisors, current coworkers, and various town clerks and treasurers.
The County Board of Supervisors still needs to approve her appointment before she takes the job.
She will be taking over for Jim Brey after he suddenly passed last month.
McCulley would finish the rest of the term until 2029, where she can decide if she wants to run for the position.
