
The Green Bay Police Department arrested a student yesterday (September 9th) after a disturbance during lunch hour.
Officers were called to Preble High School on Deckner Avenue for a reported fight in the commons.
While addressing the first fight, a second altercation broke out, requiring additional units to respond.
Green Bay Police explain that a juvenile, whose age was not given, was believed to have been involved in the first disturbance and believed to have brought a handgun and ammunition to the high school.
An officer found the gun and ammo in a backpack in a locked classroom.
The student was taken into custody, and the police will recommend charges as the investigation continues.
The department will also have an increased police presence today (September 10th) as they continue to work closely with Green Bay area schools.
