The Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc announced Friday afternoon that the USS Cobia will depart for Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, weather permitting, on Sunday morning at approximately 8 a.m.
The submarine will leave under tow with two tugboats attached, with plans to arrive in Sturgeon Bay at approximately 6 p.m.
The World War II submarine will be thoroughly cleaned with necessary repairs to be made as well. No return date has been announced.
