Work has officially started on Milwaukee’s newest cruise dock.
This is a $5 million project aimed at boosting tourism and cruise visits to the city.
Officials gathered Thursday morning for the groundbreaking ceremony at the South Shore Cruise Dock, located on South Lincoln Memorial Drive.
Once completed, it will become Milwaukee’s third cruise-specific docking site.
Funding for the dock includes a $3.5 million Capital Tourism Grant and approximately $500,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Completion is slated for the summer of 2026.
