A Sheboygan-based wing spot brought home the gold over the weekend.
Legend Larry’s participated in the 24th Annual National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, NY, this past Labor Day weekend at Sahlen Field, and brought home some hardware.
The local institution earned first place in the Traditional Hot Wing category for its Scary Larry Sauce, while also earning bronze in the Traditional Medium and Craft Wing events for its Medium and Wisconsin Old Fashioned Sauce.
That second one is not yet available in restaurants, but the Legend Larry’s team anticipates it could be coming soon.
With these latest wins, Legend Larry’s has now earned 34 total awards since first competing at the festival in 2005. 18 of which are 1st place honors.
Despite not competing every year, Legend Larry’s is the most awarded restaurant in the festival’s 24-year history.
This year’s festival drew more than 45,000 attendees and featured 20 restaurants serving over 100 styles of wings, including well-known brands like Buffalo Wild Wings and Buffalo’s own Anchor Bar, the inventor of the Buffalo wing.
