The man accused of taking over $600 worth of Pokémon cards from a Manitowoc store is free on bond.
37-year-old Brandon E. Hornburg was granted a $2,000 recognizance bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa on a charge of Retail Theft – Intentionally Take.
Hornburg was seen on Meijer surveillance footage putting multiple packs of the cards into a large cooler on wheels.
With the help of a female accomplice, he left the cooler in the gardening section and then exited the store.
They then came back to the cooler, and Hornburg moved to the checkout.
An employee told him they had to check inside the cooler while he was attempting to pay, but while that was happening, Hornburg removed his card and never paid for the cooler.
As a part of his bond, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim business or its premises, and to have no contact with the co-defendant.
Hornburg is due back in court on September 15th for his initial appearance in Branch 3.
