A Wisconsin Supreme Court justice up for election in 2026 has decided not to run.
In a statement, Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley announced she will not seek reelection to the Court because she believes the best path for her is to “rebuild the conservative movement and fight for liberty,” not as a minority member of the Court.”
She also explains that she has been warned that, under the control of judicial activists, the Court will make itself more powerful than the legislature and more powerful than the governor.
Bradley states that the warning went unheeded, and Wisconsin has seen only the beginning of what an alarming shift from thoughtful, principled judicial service toward bitter partisanship, personal attacks, and political gamesmanship is, which has no place in the Court.
So far, Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Chris Taylor announced his intention to run for the seat.
