A man who was charged with making a fake threat outside the Perkins’ Park and Ride in Manitowoc is pleading not guilty.
20-year-old Kameron Koch was back in court on Thursday (August 28th) for an initial appearance and decided to waive the formal reading of the criminal complaint before entering not guilty pleas.
Koch is now facing two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct after it was reported that he would face charges of making a terrorist threat.
The Reedsville man will be back in court in November for a scheduling conference. Manitowoc Police were called to the Park and Ride back in June after someone got a concerning message.
The criminal complaint states that two people showed officers a Snapchat message from Koch, which stated, “I grabbed my gun for a reason,” and referenced a phone call where he said, “You should probably leave before I shoot up the place,” referring to the Perkins’ Park and Ride.
Koch was later apprehended after a high-risk traffic stop and said the gun was a BB gun and didn’t have access to a real one.
Manitowoc Police say the weapon looked like an “almost identical Glock handgun” when they searched the vehicle.
