The DNR is reminding hunters of some important dates for the September hunting season.
There are six dates throughout September when the seasons open, the first of which is Monday, September 1st.
On that day, the seasons open for common gallinule, Canada geese, teal, mourning dove, rail, and snipe.
On September 3rd, the bear season opens with Zones C, E, and F allowing the use of bait and other legal methods, not including dogs, while Zones A, B, and D are aided only.
All legal methods, including dogs, can be used in all zones starting September 10th.
The full list of dates and other hunting information can be found at DNR.Wisconsin.gov.
