The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Manitowoc residents to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
The Manitowoc iteration of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on September 27th at the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA. An opening ceremony will be held at 9:40 a.m., with the walk to follow at 10:00.
More than 7 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, one of the nation’s leading causes of death.
Over 11 million family members and friends provide unpaid care for those affected.
In Manitowoc County alone, over 2,217 residents age 65 and older are living with dementia.
CJ Werley, the Manager of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, says the walk is “about more than just taking steps; it’s about coming together as a community to support one another and stand with families impacted by this disease.”
Preregistration is not required, but it is encouraged.
