Residents in the City of Kiel may see solicitors coming to their front doors in September.
The Kiel Police Department is alerting the public that Spectrum has been approved for a door-to-door solicitor’s permit for next month.
In Kiel, it is required that a door-to-door salesperson obtain such a permit before conducting business in the City.
Upon paying a fee, background checks, and contact and ID information confirmation, they will be allowed to knock on doors to attempt to do business.
The Kiel Police Department has assured residents that they are in no way obligated to engage with the salesperson or even answer the door.
All such salespersons are required by City of Kiel Ordinances to provide proof of their approved permit from the City of Kiel upon request.
Any resident who has contact with a door-to-door solicitor without a permit or who refuses to show it is asked to contact the Kiel Police Department to report it by calling the non-emergency line at 920-894-2211 and selecting option 1.
