Madison has appointed John Patterson as its new chief of police.
The city’s Police and Fire Commission made the announcement following Patterson’s service as interim chief.
This comes after Shon Barnes departed in February.
Patterson says he’s committed to building stronger ties with the community and continuing efforts to enhance public trust in the department.
