A portion of Pennsylvania Avenue in Sheboygan is scheduled for an extensive closure.
The Sheboygan Department of Public Works has announced that Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed between North 13th Street and Commerce Street for multiple weeks, beginning on Tuesday morning (September 1st).
The City has stated this closure is necessary to accommodate the infrastructure improvements linked with the Commerce Street reconstruction project.
This includes new curbs and gutters, streetlight improvements, water main replacements, and new concrete sidewalks and road pavement.
At this time, no set date has been determined for when the closure will end; however, the DPW believes it will run until late September.
While work is being done, a detour will be in place, bringing motorists to North 14th Street, Erie Avenue, and North 9th Street.
Despite the closure, local access will be maintained for the duration of the project on Pennsylvania Avenue.
All work scheduled for roads in Sheboygan is subject to change and weather-dependent.
