The Green Bay Packers are signing a multitude of players cut on Tuesday to their 16-man practice squad. Here are the players known at this time, courtesy of JS online.
Defensive lineman James Ester, defensive ends Deslin Alexandre and Arron Mosby, offensive tackle Brant Banks, running back Israel Abanikanda, wide receivers Mecole Hardman, Will Sheppard, and Isaiah Neyor, safety Jaylin Simpson, cornerback Johnathan Baldwin, kicker Mark McNamee, linebackers Kristian Welch (Iola, Wisconsin native) and Jamon Johnson, and quarterback Clayton Tune.
Tune is a fifth-round pick in 2023 by the Arizona Cardinals, who was cut Tuesday.
The Packers may not be done looking at signal-callers yet after cutting both Sean Clifford and Taylor Elgersma on Tuesday.
Sources say that offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort, wide receiver Cornelius Johnson, and cornerback Kaylen King, all released Tuesday, will not be signed to the 16-man practice squad.
The Packers open the season Sunday, September 7th, hosting the Detroit Lions. The kickoff is scheduled for 3:25 p.m.
