The former Mishicot High School gym teacher charged with sexually assaulting a student is getting another scheduling conference.
Attorneys for 37-year-old Ryan Schroeder were back in court yesterday (August 26th) discussing what’s next for the case.
Defense Attorney David Pawlowski stated that he has received evidence in the case but needs more time to file motions to suppress certain evidence.
Assistant District Attorney Angela Scarpelli stated that the motion deadline for the case was Tuesday; however, the judicial assistant approved an additional 30 days to file motions.
Schroeder was arrested after the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation following numerous reports of alleged inappropriate behavior involving a student.
The criminal complaint alleges that Schroeder had sexual contact with that student over 50 times, including 10 times at Mishicot High School when she was underage.
He faces 19 charges, including some federal.
They include 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child, repeated sexual assault of the same child, and 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
He will return to court on September 30th.
