The Manitowoc County Historical Society is gearing up for a Civil War Day with students.
The day will be hosted by the historical society next Tuesday (August 26th) from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to discover more about Manitowoc County during the Civil War.
There will be demonstrations about how soldiers and citizens of the Union lived during the conflict.
Civil War legends will also be in attendance, and the event will feature cavalry and artillery demonstrations, as well as other hands-on activities.
The program is open to all public, private, and homeschool students, but a reservation is required beforehand.
The school-based program is held in conjunction with the “Civil War Remembered” Weekend event taking place on September 27th and 28th at the Pinecrest Historical Village.
