The Above and Beyond Children’s Museum in Sheboygan will have a new look thanks to a major donation.
Above and Beyond has announced that artist Mary Anne Kluth has donated her work, Mega Matterhorn, which can now be seen on display on the museum’s second floor.
The large-scale work from Kluth was created while she was a resident with the John Michael Kohler Art Center while a part of the Arts and Industry Program in collaboration with the Kohler Company.
In the words of Kluth, “Mega Matterhorn took inspiration from her own photos of theme park landscapes as well as the work of German-American painter Albert Bierstadt.”
The Arts and Industry Program provides spaces for artists to create their work in tandem with craftspeople employed by the Kohler Company.
The program was created in 1974 and has seen hundreds of artists, including Kluth, participate.
The Mega Matterhorn artwork can be viewed at the Above and Beyond Children’s Museum at any time during regular business hours.
