A local event aimed at shining a light on the plight of the homeless is celebrating a decade of building hope.
The Haven of Manitowoc County, Hope House, and Manitowoc County Habitat for Humanity have announced the dates for the tenth annual Cardboard City.
On October 24th through the 25th, participants will spend a night living in makeshift cardboard homes, tents, or their cars to experience just one night of what those without a home go through every day.
The family-friendly event is open to everyone, including civic groups, church groups, and anyone looking to take on a fun challenge.
This year’s Cardboard City will be held at 1502 North 8th Street, starting at noon on October 24th.
Registration for participants is between $60 and $100, depending on size, and the host organizations are looking for community sponsors.
