The City of Two Rivers is updating its budget to add $75,000 for building inspections.
This includes a one-time $40,000 transfer from the Community Development Fund. City Manager Kyle Kordell says this funding is important to make sure buildings are inspected before development.
The city is still deciding whether to hire a full-time or part-time building inspector.
Two Rivers currently has $180,000 in its balance, and the Community Development Director position is vacant.
The city council approved the amendment with a unanimous vote.
